We might need you!
All welcome, and we're especially looking for Brass players now!
Are you adept at playing a brass instrument with grade 5 proficiency or above? Do you revel in the thrill of performing a diverse array of music, spanning the pop and classical spectrums? We’re on the lookout for enthusiastic brass musicians to enrich our community wind band. We have specific openings for Trombone, Trumpet, Horn, and Tuba players. Skip the auditions and dive straight into the music with us. For more details, reach out to eastbedsconcertband@gmail.com
We are always pleased to have new members join the band. If you are a woodwind, brass or percussion player of grade 3 standard or above, come along to a rehearsal and have a go. We are particularly looking for horn, trombone and bass players at the moment but everyone is welcome.
East Beds Concert Band is conducted by brass musician and teacher, Liz Schofield, who was one of the band's founding members.
The band consists of children and adults. Some people have started learning recently or have picked up their instrument again after stopping playing years ago, while others have been in the band for many years and are post-grade 8 standard. There are plenty of more experienced players to help out newer band members.
Rehearsals are held on Monday evenings during term time from 7.30pm to 9pm. They take place at Stratton Upper School, Biggleswade, Bedfordshire. Concerts are held three times a year, towards the end of each school term.
You are welcome to come and try the band for free. If you decide to join, membership costs £75 per year.
Please contact our chairperson at eastbedsconcertband@gmail.com if you would like to come along to a rehearsal.
